Methodology & criteria
The screenable Buffett criteria from Mary Buffett's "Buffettology": consistently high return on equity (ROE ≥ 15%), very low leverage (debt-to-equity ≤ 0.5), solid operating margin (EBIT margin ≥ 10%), earnings per share positive in each of the last six quarters and, in each of the two most recent quarters, higher than in the same quarter a year earlier (predictable, rising earnings — quarter is compared with the same quarter of the prior year so that seasonality does not decide the outcome), and positive free cash flow over the trailing 4 quarters (TTM). What the scanner CANNOT check: the moat — that stays your analysis. Source: fundamental data.
No global trading filters — this strategy checks the entire stock universe purely against its own criteria (mega caps over $50B included).
